Welcome to the land of RotoDojo!
A land that is home to a competitive super fantasy league that transcends across all sports. A brief intro to what we do is that we have the same group of people competing primarily in roto-scored leagues for Baseball, Basketball, Football and Hockey.
Side Note: Roto scoring is very simple, and it is also cumulative here. If you lead the league in a category, you earn 12 points (12 teams in the league). Conversely, if you are worst in that category, you only earn 1 point. Whoever has the most points at the end of each respective season is the winner of the league.
Each individual league generates a winner, and more importantly, contributes to the collective standings for the entire year. For example, if you finish all 4 leagues with 100 points, this will be a contribution of 400 points in the final standings. Whoever has the most total points for the year is the RotoDojo champion.
We also have side events (Home Run Derby, March Madness, etc.) that can lend a helping hand in the race for the championship. Sounds like all sunshine and rainbows, no? Well, it would be if we did not have a MASSIVE issue on our hands. A massive issue named Kyle.

Kyle is my cousin. Kyle is my blood. Kyle is dear to me. But when it comes to fantasy sports and specifically RotoDojo, Kyle is the bane of my existence. Kyle is the enemy. Kyle is no good.
Kyle is an absolute force in fantasy sports, and I would go as far to say he is too good at fantasy sports. Call it luck, skill, or plain old black magic, but this guy just pulls tricks out of his hat and wins every damn league he participates in.
Our Roto league started with the 2020 Football season and is actively ongoing as we begin this 2025 Baseball season. Please refer to the list below of the sport and Kyle’s respective placing in each of them.

In 17 total leagues across the four major sports, he has won 7 times and finished in the top three 12 times. On top of that, three of the remaining five seasons resulted in fourth place finishes. And he is currently on pace to finish top 3 in this year’s basketball and hockey leagues.
Finishing in the Top 4 in 15 out of 17 leagues is OUTRAGEOUS and I need him investigated.

This is a historic 5 year run in fantasy sports and I, personally, have been robbed on multiple occasions. A notable recent example was my fall from grace in Hockey ’23. I was in first place the ENTIRE season until the final 3 weeks.
1st place was a revolving door for the final stretch and Kyle stole it in the final few days. Baseball always has a similar vibe and I want to vomit thinking about late September, but I think I am mentally preparing myself for the inevitable before the season even begins.
Call it a loser mentality if you like…I will just call it reality. Destiny arrives all the same when referring to my cousin.

This is our fantasy version of Barry Bonds in the 90s and early 2000s. This is 80s Gretzky. Prime MJ. Peak Jerry Rice. I would have said Tom Brady, but a certain Eli Manning came to mind and reminded me that legends can be fallible. Maybe I just need to get Eli Manning in our league and Kyle’s nightmarish reign will come to a Big Blue conclusion.
Someone get me on the line with his people.
Now until Eli joins the league, we will have to deal with this tyrant on our own terms. Baseball will be a dog fight until the final inning of the last game, and football will always be a coin toss in the fantasy world, so who knows what this year holds for us.
No matter what happens though, we will ALWAYS have the 2023 Football season.
